B.U. Tiffil was a movie actress who was cast to play the part of Tess Trueheart in “The Dick Tracy Story”, a movie about Dick Tracy’s life. Before filming started, Tiffil received many threatening notes and phone calls, forcing her to drop out due to “nervous exhaustion.” These threats in fact came from the actress Fame, who was the second choice to play the part of Tess. Tiffil would later reveal to Dick Tracy the reason for her departure and Tracy confronted Fame with the evidence and her assistance to the villain Haf and Haf. Fame could not live with the humiliation and choose to kill herself by jumping off the Hollywood sign.
