J. Tucker Hennessy owned an old mansion greatly desired by Governor Smart before he became Governor. Tucker was shot and killed by either his son or Smart, it is unclear but a letter from his daughter Rachel suggests the son was the murderer. He was then hung to make it look like a suicide, although this didn’t fool the police. Smart also purchased the house just before the murder, but Tucker’s signature could have been a forgery after his death. His daughter feared for her life and would die in a car accident years later and his son attempted to kill the Governor over the mansion two years after that.
